A mere 8 months after the release of Black Country, New Road's critically-acclaimed debut album For The First Time, the eclectic septet are sure to delight fans with the news of its follow up, and of course, new music. 'Chaos Space Marine' is the cacophonous first taste of Ants From Up There (due out via Ninja Tune on the 4th of February) and according to vocalist/guitarist it's "the best song we’ve ever written.” Utilising the more is more approach, presumably disparate elements such as classically-inclined violins, am-dram-flavoured piano parts, foreboding saxophone drones and post-rocky guitars somehow come together in a way that only Black Country, New Road can execute. Noticeably more melodic than a lot of their previous works, which veered towards the sprawling and experimental, 'Chaos Space Machine' is a concise and intricate tapestry of innumerable influences that shines a light on the group's enviable musical talent.
